Tom Wishon on Custom Fitting

Tom started off by saying “People that get custom fitted have more fun. Fact”
You would never expect to go into a shoe shop and them be selling all size 9’s and say och well they’ll do me. Then don’t do it when buying golf clubs. This is something very close to my heart as you probably already know.
He also highlighted that there is no industry standard, ie a Mizuno 6 iron, Titleist 6 iron, TaylorMade 6 iron, Ping 6 iron & Callaway 6 iron are all different lengths, different shaft flexes and different lofts and lies! So if someone says I know that my clubs are 2 degrees flat, its only relevant to that set!

He closed by concluding that the indusry are producing lots of 46”long drivers this year which means that for every 10 drives you hit you’ll get one you’ll hit longer but the other 9.. well? The average length on the PGA tour is 44.5” Go figure!

Welcome
